Last-Minute Invitation: Davis History Walking Tour (Jan 7)

  • Jan 2
  • 1 min read

I’m offering a small-group Davis history walking tour this Wednesday, January 7. One participant is already registered, and I’d love to open it up to a few more people who enjoy local history, stories, and walking downtown with fresh eyes.

On this small-group walking tour, we’ll explore:

  • Davis as Patwin land, and how Indigenous presence and stewardship frame the town’s history

  • The arrival of settlers and how agriculture, animal husbandry, and the railroad reshaped the region

  • Why Davis became a university town and how land-grant farming fits into that story

  • The lives of ordinary and influential people who shaped downtown Davis

  • A reflective walk along Putah Creek, connecting landscape to history
